Jeevithame Oka Prayogam – Edited by Volga

This is a collection of autobiographic stories told by 6 different women from different fields in a visual history workshop conducted by Sparrow.

1. Venditera Velugu – Esther Victoria Abraham (Prameela) – Film artist (one of those primitive bollywood/hindi cinema heroines)
2. Raayi – Bangaaram – Kanakamurthy -  A Traditional Sculptor
3. Menaka Maanasa Putrika – Damayanthi Joshi -  Dancer (Kathak dancer)
4.  Patrika rangaanni rangasthalaanni kalipina Sushma Despaande – An investigative journalist and a Theatre atrist
5. Rangasthalam oka Adbhutha Pradesam – Maaya – A Kathakali dancer and a Theatre artist
6. Sampradaaya Varnaalu – Neela – Painter
In this book, each of these women narrate their  experiences, feelings, hardships they’ve faced and struggle to identify themselves in their chosen field of art.

Not a casual read, go for it only if you are interested to know about different forms of art and artists, their experiences and all.

This book was gifted to me by Volga and Kutumbarao garu on my wedding day :) And it took more than 7 years for me to open and go thru it :)
